Geez, i just got my firebird today. When I test drove it at night (cooler) it ran fine. Now that its hot as hell out, its missing on low/partial throttle. Runs great wide open , seems fine at idle too.
damn optispark... Please let us know what you find, im dealing with similar issue.06 MazdaSpeed 6 ( 14.8@93.48 ) RW 3630lbs

So i put my car on a snap on obd 1 scanner today and i put my vin into then tried to check the codes and it said something like couldn't read the computer but not exactly that wording and the other day when it rained it was really hard at starting so doesn't that lean more toward opti.

i finally got my codes to read and it read coolant temperature high or open, left oxygen sensor lean, ans egr system problem. Then i cleared the codes and the only one that can back was coolant temperature sensor high or open and im assuming thats why my fans don't turn off. I'm still havin the hard starting espicially after leaving it sit all weekend. I'm assuming it a fuel pump cause it easier to start if you turn the key a few times to kick on the fuel pump.

My car just started doing the same thing. Its not throwing a check engine code or light...nothing. And it seems to only do it when its humid out. Ive talked to a few different people on this issue. Some say the optispark on these cars is junk, others say that the wires go bad due to them pretty much laying on the exhaust manifold. Either way, im not sure what to do about mine. Ive priced out different possibilities of what it could be, and they seem pretty costly. I wish i could offer you some suggestions, but i am in the same boat myself.JTS & LTS HAVE MY <3

You should find someone with a fuel pressure gauge and have them test the fuel pressure to rule out the pump.
If you haven't done a filter in the past 1yr or so it wouldn't be a bad idea to change that.
I have heard of this a few times but the stock fuel pressure regulator can go bad.
