guys this is a billet aluminum block, the first LS i might add. Heres a rough break down of what goes into a 6 sec LS block. First start with C5R block, weld on 2 extra head stud holes for each cylinder. Weld a lip around bottom of cylinders , now mind you all this welding is going to tweak the block. Now fill the water holes with solid block. Machine the cam to 55mm ,machine the crank bore... machine the head bolts to 1/2 inch, machine for bigger lifters,machine the cylinders for sleeves with a register at the bottom and top so they dont drop at all,deck the block ,install sleeves,bore sleeves, deck the sleeves. Go out and run 2-3 passes and start over again. Now with block costs and machining your at and sometimes over $9000. So for $9000 you can get a block ready to go and make more then 3 passes... what would you choose?
This is by no means a street block. It only has a few water passages. I'll let you know when a full water jacket version is out
