  • Need Help!!!

Alright I'll set up the senario for you guys. I just finished up repairing a bad lifter and camshaft on my car(LT1). Brand new cam, lifters, serpintine belt, gaskets, hoses, and unfortunately......radiator.

So the problem now is: When the car is cold, like when I go to first start it up for the day, I start it and it makes a tapping noise for about 2-3 mins and then goes away once the car gets somewhat warm and doesnt come back until the car is once again cold.To me it sounds like the serpintine belt hitting something cuz its not like a metal on metal noise. I can hear some metal scraping but its not as loud as what the noise is. I rechecked all the rocker arms to make sure that they were adjusted properly and were getting oil. Im stuck and dont know what this could be.

Any opinions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

How does the car run? My first thought was lifters. Could be the Idler pulley or tensioner on the serp. belt.
