  • meet & greet ready

for the past couple weekends ive been trying to do the prep work for gettin the car ready for the meet and greet. Last weekend i washed, clay barred, waxed the exterior. Did a pretty thorough cleaning under the hood. Installed an SLP lid/ cleaned and oiled the K&N filter. Yesterday i painted the calipers red with the duplicolor caliper kit. Getting the windows tinted at some point thoughout this week. I think im goin with Ziebart....$189 for lifetime warranty. Solar guard tint with 5 layers. Ill prolly go somewhere around 35%-45% tint. If anybody knows a reputable tint shop that uses high quality tint and does a good job for a better price let me know. Im also thinking bout getting an SLP strut tower brace to tighten up the front end and then eventually get SLP subframe connectors(wont be getting the SFC until later in the summer).

The place I went for my window tint was Ameristar on Ford Road in Westland I did 35% on the sides and hatch. They did a great job, was alittle more expensive than your quote,$225.00 and they used 3M film.

My Z28 is off to Michigan drive line Monday, for a rearend overhaul while it's there, I'm having 3.73 pinion and ring gear installed.

Also getting my new front bumper cover painted next weekend. Along with getting some dings repaired. Then I should be ready for M&G.

yea i know the sfc are gonna give me way more bang for the buck as opposed to the strut brace, but i wanna try to keep anything aftermarket on the car SLP brand and their sfc's are like $350. which at this point i really dont have an extra $350 to throw at the car right now. i figure its gonna be basically 200 for the tint,( which i could do without for a lil while if need be) i need new tires SOON. so depending on what brand tires, i figure another 600-800. im pretty sure i need a pinion bearing b/c something is making a ruckus in the back of the car, so another 100-200 for that. I dunno we'll see what happens. I feel like im making a mastercard commercial......
                Tint-$200
                Tires-$700
                Pinion bearing-$150
                SfC's-$350
                Strut tower brace-$100

lol no you are not right. his car is still in the paint shop getting pampered.

I'm ready right now for the meet and greet. Just did the Meguiars 3 step for the first time on this car this weekend. It didn't need it but I feel better knowing what wax is on it now lol. I also added some chrome touches under the hood to set the car apart, shes all set for the year now I think... that is if I can restrain myself from buying mods.

I'm getting the windows tinted this week, and a few goodies under the hood. Then I'm spending the whole week getting it ready for the meet.
