Tinted glass and the law

I just had my door windows and hatchback window tinted today, which I really liked what it added to appearance of the car. Just 35% on all the windows. My question to those who have had their windows tinted, has there been any reprisal from the boys in blue regarding the window tinting law and not being able to see if you're wearing your seat belt. My son and daugther, who are always looking out for my best interest mentioned that to me after learning that the dirty deed had been done. Also I should mention that I did research law prior to heading off to the detailer. Any thoughts or experiences to share?

I'm gonna get mine about 10% tinted on the hatch and quarter windows, and 35% on the sides soon. (The Cobalt)

Anything on the drivers windows and windshield are illegal. With that being said it really depends on where you live on if your going to get rolled for it or not.

I have 5% on my hatch and 15% on my sides and I have never been pulled over for it in the 2+ years I have had it on.

I'm not big on tint but it looks great, just cant see crap at night, So i'm getting my rear hatch done 5%.

but my GTP has the darkest you can get all the way around. and i've never been pulled over.

anything can be put on the back windows the front windows can have a 4 inch sun block up 35% but depends on the cops... all my windows are 18%

my car came with the windows tinted when I bought it, don't even know what tint it is. My girlfriend bought her grand am the same way and had the car a couple of years before she got pulled over for it. A friend of mine got unlucky and got pulled over one week after tinting his car... just depends on what cops are around and if they want to hassle with pulling you over for it. I try and drive around with my windows down as much as I can so that I don't have to deal with it..

I've got 15% on my truck and have only been pulled over once for it - because I was pulling out of a bar at michigan state and the cop wanted to see if i had been drinking or not, that was his excuse. gave me a verbal warning.

Silver tint is pretty light, so I think you'll be fine...unless you're talking about the mirror tint which is illegal.

I haven't had any problems with my tint and it's pretty dark...not sure what it is exactly b/c they were tinted when I bought the car. I also almost always have my windows at least half way down though.

I had problems in the late 80's and early 90's with a shelby charger and my iroc-z with the sides tinted. Any car that looks fast is going to be a target and tint just adds to the problem. I remember Garden city, Westland, and Plymouth being bad in your area.

I had my windows tinted 35% on the front and 5% on the hatch for not even a month and then I got pulled over and had to pull them off.

i have 5% on the back 10% on the sides and 35% on the windshield and have yet to be pulled over with it... most times cops just look and dont do anything....
