  • 94 z28 cluster question

Hopefully Joel or someone can help me out with this one, I have a friend looking to buy a 94 z28, has a lt1 in it badged as a z28 but the speedo only goes to 110. Were there v8 cars that came with 110mph? Or did he swap a 110 cluster in to show lower mileage or because it was in an accident?

I have never seen the V-8 cars have the 110 (or 115) speedo in it. I imagine he's not being completely honest in one way or another......

Yes they did have them, I believe they were on certain cars but can't remember why. I wanna say tire rating if they didn't upgrade to performance tires.

Interesting, I thought it wasnt right, but I seen there were 110 ones listed as v8 in various places.

I also think thats what it was. The standard tires didnt have the speed rating high enough.

Yep, I bought mine new with a 110 speedo.. If you didn't get the Z rated tires you got the 110 speedo and speed limiter. I also had the 1st gear lock out. PRND2 only. No 1st on the gear selector. Can't remember if that was because I had 2.73 gears or what though. Not all cars had that.
