  • Ramair help

I always wanted an SS but couldn't find one. Found my Z28 and couldn't pass it up. I have a CAI, but was wondering when I get my SS hood on. How do I hook up the ramair? Do I have to buy another CAI that supports the ramair?

    Thanks,
    Justin

Some places sell Air boxes with there hoods other wise yes, you would have to buy a Ram Air box for an SS to make the hood functional.

    Your CAI wouldn't work right.

You wouldn't see any noticable gains over the SS intake IMO don't bother.

Tests have been done, and you pick up like 1rwhp at 100mph. Not anywhere near worth it to me. Just get the SS hood and keep the CAI

Never understood what they were thinking when they made those SS hoods...The LT1's "ram air" is kinda stupid how it goes almost in a complete circle b4 it gets to the engine and the LS1 SS hood isn't even functional from the factory, I don't think. The hood looks great but that's about all it's good for IMO!

I've got a suncoast ram air box (I believe) that Pete (slp ss) gave me to use on my LT1. I probably won't be using it because I don't like how much of the engine it covers after all the work I've done to it. If you're interested shoot me a PM. It's just the basic shell so you'll need the filter media and I think the rubber part to get the box onto the stock intake elbow.
