Why does it look like my windshield wipers look like they took Viagra?

All right been playing with this all night and can't figure it out. they seem to be working alright except when you turn them off they go all the way up! any ideas??

i cant remember what the problem is, but i know it was common on the late 90's to early 00's Grand Prixs also. Good luck tho. someone should know.

im guessing they are "bouncing" back up and never sitting at the proper rest point?

If so yea... its the eletronics of it. my truck had the same issue and it annoyed the crap out of me until i put a new one in.

Yea this is a common Pontiac problem. Their is a gear that runs with these and sometimes they skip some teeth and park in that upward postition but Its usually what badair said my buddys 99 gtp had that problem and it was that module

Yah and I can't get them to shut off unless I shut the car down and let it sit for a minute or so. Scared the shit outta me the first time it did it. Done it like 3 times since bought my car.

my truck randomly turned on twice and also wouldnt shut off until i pulled over and shut the truck off for a while. but it happened in dry weather.

it would also refuse to work sometimes and just making a "buzzing" noise when i twisted the control. Id have to open the door and help the wiper arm while twisting it and it would start working. I discovered this wasnt a good problem to have when it starts downpouring on you while youre already going 70 mph.

i hope my new one never has that problem because it was annoying as hell.

i know the problem. take the cowl off and watch the crank arm when it moves.
there should be a spring loaded arm on it and when it goes to the bottem its is supposed to go past a tab. if it doesent it wont park right. check if the tab is bent or the crank arm isnt going past it. if its the latter loosent it and turn it a little. common buick problem
