  • Y pipe and cat delete help!!!!

Looking to get a nice Y pipe and delete the cats to complete my exhast. Already have BBK headers and magnaflow 3'' cat back. Any recommendations on where to get/order a Y pipe that will fit a 97 Z28(Lt1)? Also, will getting rid of the cats make that much of a difference, or just some check engine light trouble?

    Thanks,
    Justin

I can get you a Hooker off road y, but I dont know how that would line up with your BBK headers. I looked through the BBK part numbers and didnt see any y-pipes listed for our cars.

I would like to get a aftermarket Y pipe for better flow, but I can't seem to find one that will bolt up to my headers either. Any advice on the cat delete? I will keep looking for a new Y pipe. Anyone finds one, let me know.

            Thanks,
            Justin

I will be getting my car tuned by Steve from SBTuning when I am finally able to pull my car out and start working on it. So that's good to know that I can just tune them out. I am not sure whether the headers are shorts or mids. I know they are 1 5/8 tubing, ceramic coated. I will try and find out.

                    Thanks,
                    Justin

This is the link to my headers. I think they are shortys.

i think they are mids. shortys are more like stock size but have a collecter and are therefor headers and not manifolds

Ok, sounds right to me. Anyone know where or what brand of Y pipe will work with those?
