ABS light help

My ABS light comes on within about 20 feet.
at first i thought it may be the wheel hub, becuase it was making some odd noises.
today i put the new wheel hub in after shcool, and the light came right back up

did you replace both wheel hubs? thats usually what does it...

no, i cheaped out and only got one for now
they were like 140 somthing each i think

is the other one OK? Im assuming you know how to check.

you could take it somewere and get the code for it. Insted of spending money you dont need to. check all your connetions first though

yeah i checked it in all the ways i know how to
i made sure it moves freely
check the play back and forth
and used a multimeter to check resistence

my scan tool isnt showing anycode for it just says ABS not working or somthing

but i did look in my GM F-PLatform 1993-1996 shop manuals and they say to check wiring and connections
then relpace the wheel hub

what kind of scan tool is it? You need a tech 2 most likely to get abs codes

Yea, almost no scanners currently on the market(that im aware of) can read traction control, ABS, or specific BCM codes. A dealer or some shops have the right equipment though.

alright, i would have my dad bring his home from work, but it wont do me anygood
rotunda stuff only works on ford
my neighbor works at bob sax, i should have him get a scan tool or drive it to work and get it checked out

that would be your best bet.. If you like others said.. The scan tool you have is no where advance enough to get the job done..

No need to spend any extra money than what is needed. You said your dad can bring one home from work, or just drive over there and have him run a quick check for you.

Just get someone with a tech 2 to do it if you can, youll get the most complete info from that.

yea tech 2 ftw. i think some of the good snap-off ones can read it too but im not shure

Doubt the snap on will, our red brick doesnt.

the brick is nothing compard to the ethos or modis. but im still not sure. you can do cylinder deactivation with them. its kinda fun lol

I dont really know what else they have, i figured the brick was about it. I like playing with the cylinder deactivation, just learned all its purposes in my auto shop class, hell i thought it was there to play with not actually diagnose something, haha.
