245 is a safe bet. But I bet you could get 275's on there tho because 15's will have more sidewall with the same height tire than us 16in guys use.

ill probably end up going with the 245's
i was just curious as to if higher numbers such as the 275's were possible.

gotta love 15" drag look rims on 4th gens
      or maybe im just weird

Won't you get a lot of sidewall rubbing with a 275???

Well with a 275 on a 16x8 wheel you will have a lot of tire bulging. The reason you might be able to run a 275 on a 15x8 rim is because its going to have more sidewall than a 16 inch rim so the tire will bulge less and have less of a chance of coming off the rim.

When you start going to a wider wheel you can run up to 295 with no clearance issues and some even get 315's on there depending on the brand.

here is a pic of mine with a 26/11.50/16 et street on stock TA wheels
many people run them instead of 26/10.50/16s
I have ran 1.4X 60 foot times with them

I believe a 275 requires 9-9.5 for safety. The factory 17's are 9 with the 275 standard. People moving up to 305's and 315's need a 10-11 usually. Not saying it won't work but it is not recommended. Those are a 35 or 40 series tire also.

He will run a larger sidewall with 15s as mentioned and I'd say 275 is gonna be more than enough for the power hes making anyways.

Those tires are what I run and personally I don't feel that any other drag radial even comes close.
