I have my '97 Z28 that is in need of some minor body repair. (I.E. fender replaced/repaired, bumper cover replaced/repaired) Should I fix these problems and keep it original or upgrade to the 98+ front clip which I am a big fan of as well? In the long run will this car be valuable like the old school 'maros left original or will they be like many other cars nowadays and not be worth more then they are in scrap?

Do whatever you like best which seems like upgrading to the 98+ style. If your gonna keep the car long enough for it to become a classic then keep it factory but I would have no part of that IMO cars are meant to be enjoyed.Doing less with more

id say keep it original. but as far as value goes its really going to take a long time for our cars to go up in value. and even so the cars going to need low miles and be extremly clean to see the first of the value shifts. i personally dont see myself making money off my car.
but hey its your car not mine put w/e front end you want on it, lol you already have the right interior for it. front end conversion and a lsx swap
wishing i could drive like joe and the atm squad

I would say do what you like, by doing so you'll enjoy your car that much more.Originally posted by bumpin_z View PostI have my '97 Z28 that is in need of some minor body repair. As for the second part of your question, that's a little harder to answer. I guess you have to ask yourself this "is your car significant to the Camaro legacy?" meaning is it an Anniversary edition, SS, 1LE, or Berger car, etc??? If not then modifying it will probably not hurt the cars value to any great affect. In the long run will this car be valuable like the old school 'maros left original or will they be like many other cars nowadays and not be worth more then they are in scrap?West Michigan Pontiac Club

the only thing that sux is anyone who knows camaro's is going to look in and se the 30th anniversary seats and if I have the hood up it will be easily identifiable as the lt1 and not the lsxHere's a sig with my old ride: (Everyone else has a cool sig I had to do something!)

I forgot it was an anniversary year car. leave it stock.. please. no sense in butchering it up and throwing a new front clip on it its just like the 60s camaros when someone throws a different front end on them they usually devalue it, if you want an ls1 car just buy one, they are dirt cheap right now lolOriginally posted by bumpin_z View Postthe only thing that sux is anyone who knows camaro's is going to look in and se the 30th anniversary seats and if I have the hood up it will be easily identifiable as the lt1 and not the lsx-Derek-

If it makes any difference, you'll have to hang onto it for another 8-13 years before it starts appreciating.
If it was was me, I'd just buy a 98+ car and call it a day...they're cheap enough.
But it's your car...do what you want to with it.Originally posted by Redd8407I WANT NOISE! SPEED! AN ENGINE THAT SHAKES MY INTERNAL ORGANS LIKE THEY GOT PARKINSON'S! Stay with the original parts for the car.
I was never a fan of doing the swap on LT cars to the LS cars.
I did the ram air hood to mine then did the motor and rear end along with the proper supporting parts but I will not ever put an LS front end on my car.

Well what ever you decide, let me know. My brother in law can paint it and do the body work if you want.
He can blend what he paints so it flows with the car.
Hes in Bay City. And he owns Discount Glass and Body. Just a thought it your interested.
I personally would keep it stock. But that's me.sigpic

Like everone else said, Its your car so do what makes you happy. Just remember other people my not like it and that could hurt you if you try to sell. My 96 TA is factory stock WS-6 with only 25000 miles on it. If I started to mod it I would loose money when and if I wanted to sell. Its hard not to mod it when I see what everyone else is doing.sigpic

it's a 1997 car so it's not that special. They just put "30th" all over everything because it was 1997 - it's not the anniversary edition.Originally posted by redfbird99 View PostI forgot it was an anniversary year car. leave it stock.. please. no sense in butchering it up and throwing a new front clip on it its just like the 60s camaros when someone throws a different front end on them they usually devalue it, if you want an ls1 car just buy one, they are dirt cheap right now lol
Do what you want - it's your car and it's not like the value is going to go anywhere but down anytime soon. I can't stand to see a car left stock... first thing I do to any car is mod it. Hell, already got a list going for the Trailblazer and a few mods in the mail.- Brian Meissen
