I know that in the beginning all the SS Camaro's and WS6 T/A's and Formula's were done by SLP at their shop just down the road from the assembly plant. It was something GM contracted them to do because of the low number of these cars built. I know that GM started doing the conversion in house at the factory but if memory serves me correctly it wasnt until 2000. I could be wrong on this but I think that's why they arent done at the factory in these pictures. It's SLP's facility.

And if you notice, those pics are taken April, 2000. So I would say that was a possibility.

SLP only did the LT1 WS6 Cars
all `98 up WS6's were done by ASC (Hood Only The rest was done in house))
But you are correct SLP did have a facility down the Rd from the St Therese Plant.

Your right. I have one question though. Something I just realized. These are 30th anniversary cars (1999's) why do the pictures say 4/2000 ? These cars should have all been sold by then.

That would be my fault. These are actually two different set of pics and are not related in any other way other than being taken at ASC. Sorry about the confusion.

ASC did the third gen verts too. I had one. Nice work considering the car was never designed to be a vert and they were shipped coupes to convert.
                      Regret selling it.

Who knows how much longer ASC will be around for.
A few year back they had 200 people working there, now there is only about 30.

I took a tour at ASC this summer and main the majority of the cars where mustangs and not many at that.

ASC built the Ford GT, Salleen S7, and painted many body panels on the vipers.
