  • LS1 Spark Plugs??

    Well i dont know if any of you knew the problem i was having with my car at woodward last weekend but i dug into it and found out that my plugs got soaked with gas and thats what was giving me the poor performance. Soooooo, I think im just going to replace them. What is everyone running in their LS1?? Also let me know what mods you have done because i have quite a bit of work done on mine so im interested in a high HP plug.

    with nitrous usually the NGK TR6 plug is the way to go at least with us 3.8l guys.

      dont use the platinum tips with nitrous you will get detonation

        Guys on LS1 Tech swear be the NGK TR55 or the TR6 iridium for nitrous. Supposed to be the best one for LS1's but with the TR55 you have to change the plugs about ever 20k cause they are just straight up copper.

        Let me know how you come out cause I gotta do mine soon.

            Copper is ALWAYS the best plug, it just depends on how often you plan on changing them. Platinum is the worst plug for a performance engine but you almost never need to change them. Iridium plugs are a good compromise as they do not need to be changed as often as copper but they also present a slightly degredation in performance.

            Get the straight up copper ones, you like your fast, don't you?

                well i have almost the exact same setup as you kevin minus the spray, and i have the TR55's, they are a pretty good plug. i hear that the TR6's (iridium ones) are the way to go with spray....but either one will work, did you have the stock ones in still or what were you running before???

                    If you don't spray much go with the TR55 plugs, they are copper and pre gapped. If you do spray I've heard good things about the T6s.

                      Well I deff dont think he sprays enough to need the T6. Have you even got that bad boy filled more than 3 times kev? lol

                            It doesn't matter how many times you spray it. If you are going to spray it @ all, you need the TR6's in there gapped @ .035 or you'll end up regreting it IMO. But don't take my word for it, go over to LS1tech and look in the N2O section.

                              I got 7 of 8 plugs and wires changed on mine this weekend. Having a little trouble with #8, even so, she runs sweet!!!! NGK TR-55's and MSD wires.
