untuned it never left the garage. I wanted it tuned before I did anything on the road with it to try and keep the engine good. I will do the leakdown test and such soon here. I am just at a loss right now as to what I want to do until I hear back from Abbott's. Maybe they will let me take it to a place locally here and they will cover the costs to fix the bearing issue and such. I dunno.
Just upsetting working on this car for what will be a year in a couple of weeks and then find out the bottom end is no good and have to start over again------------------------------------------

the place that was doing the tuning has seen it happen in the GTPs as well. They could hear something wasn't right in the bottom end, somewhat of a rattle and then seeing the power go down each run confirms the engine is giving out------------------------------------------

yea that is what it has come too. I have the car back home now. Had our friend who owns a tow company go get it as I did not want to drive it and damage anything further if I can salvage it yet as it has not gone out totally yet------------------------------------------

lifter would be a tapping noise though wouldn't it? This is more of a slight rattle in the bottom end. Would a lifter cause power to keep dropping too?Originally posted by 1BADAIR View Postsounds more like a lifter issue to me------------------------------------------

a bearing wouldn't really cause power to drop unless it was way to tight.
a spun bearing usually rattles and has a HIGH pitch squeak
a colapsing lifter will cause power to drop do to not opening the valve completely.
without hearing or tearing it apart it only a guess though.
does the oil smell like fuel or like burnt oil(if you have ever taken a toasted engine apart you know the smell)
