  • Car is getting dynotuned! UPDATE

Well I dropped the car off at zzperformance (specialize in 3.8 engines) this morning to have them tune my 97 camaro for the new mods I did to it and to get it streetable again.

Just in time for winter, lol.

Possibly by the end of today I might have some numbers to give you guys off the bottles for now. Unless they find another issue out with it or something. Cross your fingers

                    UPDATE:

initial warm up run with basically no timing and way rich fuel to get a baseline....about 200rwhp. Already better than my bolt on car with a tune, ha

time to tweak and modify it from there.

running over there in about 30 minutes to check on progress. Talked to them earlier and they were working on the trans settings and getting them dialed in

yea well the news is not good. Went and checked it out as they wanted me to stop in and result is an engine with a bottom end giving out. Looks like a bearing is about ready to give way possibly. The first dyno run with no timing and way rich 10.5 A/F ratio was the best run and the next couple continued to drop in power as they dialed in the tune. Signs that the engine was dropping. So they stopped before any damage occurred that would be catasphrophic.

So now I have an email to the company that built up the bottom end to see what they are going to do for me. Hopefully they will stand up to their work as it is in their bottom end that this issue is arising.

So no numbers guys and the car still does not run and will not be running through another winter....
