  • Ideas on why my trans slips?

So I bought my SS a little over a month ago, and until it starting getting cold, the car ran great.

Now, every morning when I leave for work at 7, my trans slips out of third, and I coast until it wants to shift into 4th (sometimes it doesnt).

Im sure the car has been beaten on in it's past, but I don't think thats the problem. The car has a Yank Racing 3600 Stall and an unknown shift kit (1st to 2nd).

Has anybody had similar problems/ have any ideas on what could've caused it, or what I can do to fix it?

    Thanks

It has 75,000 miles on it, and the trans fluid is full and pink.

does it smell burnt at all?

also your always supposed to use a trans cooler with a Stall converter If you do not have that it could be your problem.

does this happen all the time or after some driving, other symptoms you experience when this happens?

yeah, once the car is warmed up, it doesn't slip, but If I start it, and drive it, it'll slip for sure after 3rd gear.

                      Either

the 3-4 clutch pack has an excessive amount of clearance and is on it's way out the door or the filter is partially plugged. It's cheep enough to just do a fluid and filter change and re-evaluate.
