  • NEED HELP! Car is being a SOB

Something fishy is going on with my car, and I can't figure out what it is. Being away at college, I have no tools to even remotely look at anything, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a good shop in the Grand Rapids area that I could take my car into? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Poor throttle response, has trouble climbing RPMS.... In an easy way to put it, it feels like I am towing a 40 ft boat

Anywhere from wires, plugs, MAF sensor, to Opticrap

I'd have to scan it and then go from there

I replaced the plugs and wires 2 years ago (PITA), and it feels like my car is dragging more than it did back when i needed to replace them. I wouldn't be surprised if my optispark was bad b/c i have had it since 1994

                          REVALATION!

Could it really be a clogged cat? Cause I AM having problems with that, it rattles like someone threw a bag of marbles in it, but i thought that would be unrelated. Now that I think about it, I have had my problems worsen ever since the rattling has begun...

Yup, that is indeed a big possibility. Cut that thing off and see what she does. There have been people with automatic cars that couldn't get them to shift cause the trans wasn't seeing enough power due to a clogged cat.
