lt1 ram air scoop

I've seen this mod on Lt1 tech and they said that it had no measured effect on intake temperatures.

It's kinda cool though. Whynot.

im sure it will do somethig i mean look at were my cai is now... im getting a pice of........ crap i forgot what its called? but the cai will go down it that little hole and then it will be open with the scoop blowing air into the little cubby were the filter will sit. ya know what i mean? its hard to explain.. heres a pic of how my cai is set up now...

I think the free ram air mod coupled with a boxed off CAI (but of course open to the ram air) would increase performance more than just the ram air mod itself. I have the same intake, and the hotter the engine gets, the more hot air the intake is sucking in, the worse the performance.

I see no reason why it wouldn't help - at least a little. Anything you can do to channel cooler air to the intake is a good thing. I've seen all kinds of strange setups to accomplish this. Another one is running "dyer exhaust hose" from some point to your air lid or CAI.
