Ok guys I'd like to add a little to this based off of my experience
A few years ago I noticed my shifter (M6) moving up and down in the console so obviously it was the trans mount. When I pulled it out and inspected it I noticed it was torn from left to right and only hanging on by a small amount. I installed a new 1LE mount and it seemed good to go but a few weeks later the shifter was moving again. I removed and inspected the new mount only to find it starting to tear the same as the Original one. So I intalled a ES Poly trans mount wothout the preload plate to eliminate some of the extra NVH.
Upon further investigation I noticed the left motor mount was very worn so I decided to order some Prothane Motor mounts. Took me 5 hours just to do the left side and when we opened the clamshells the rubber mount just fell on the floor (supposed to be bonded to the metal). We deducted that the mount was so bad it caused the trans mounts to fail.. So yes there is alot of torsional stress on the trans mount. I still have the Original right motor mount and so far after 3 years with one ploy motor mount and a poly trans mount I've had zero issues.
Also like to note that my abusive driving habits (high RPM clutch drops from a 50 roll) definetely had a roll in destroying these parts.
