Just IMO, if your going to do it, tint the tails, you can LIGHTLY tint them with no cop touble, I have mine about as black as you can go and I have been pulled over for them once. And personally I think its cause I live in a small town and he had nothing better to do at 3am. As for it diming the lights, I personally dont think it does. Maybe a tiny bit.

Chelsea, my guess is he saw a kid driving a camaro at 3am with and loud exhaust and figured what the heck. Didnt give me anything, asked if I had been drinking. This was on my old 93 Z28. About 2 years ago

I tinted mine, and I've never gotten anything but compliments on it, and I highly doubt that my car is worth any less because of it. . .

Here are the pics of my taillights I found on my PhotoBucket account. I lost all the rest of them when I bought my new laptop.
Daytime with just parking lights on:

Daytime with Brakes applied (had a bad ground in one light socket, I fixed it since then):

And I took the nighttime pics just now with my folks' camera. . .
                            Nighttime with Park/Headlights on:

In my opinion, go with the CETA mod and tint the tail lights. That black on white contrast will look pretty cool i think. Just browse the web for cars similar to yours w/ the ceta mod and see if you like it

if you dont want permanent, do the ceta mod with plastidip, you can remove it later. you can also buy tint film to use on your tails, inexpensive and easy to apply/remove. +1 on ceta mod btw
