Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I have Comp lifters and springs w/ stock stamped rockers. Have had them for 10,000 miles with no problems. Now only when the car gets hot I have tick coming from driver side valve cover. I have redone the lash cold and hot with no change.
Have you guys had the stock rocker pivots go bad on you guys with upgraded springs and cam?
Any advise?
Thanks

Are you noticing a slowed throttle response in the bottom end? Next time you're in the car, "blip" the throttle, and see how immediate the engine's response is. I'd be willing to bet it's an exhaust leak. Are you still running stock manifolds? It might be time to get some headers. . . As Joel explained it to me when I had him diagnose the same symptoms on my LT1, he said "It's an exhaust manifold gasket leak, and if you're going to go to the trouble to replace the gaskets, you really don't want to put the manifolds back on."
How much preload did you put on the rockers? Im sure you know this already but Comp lifters require a different pre-load that stock.
im assuming you have Pro-mag rockers which are not quiet as they are... however if this is something that has devoloped and hasnt changed after reseting the lash, probably a lifter. Rockers are pretty solid.
Comp R lifters are also very well known to be a 50/50 hit or miss product. If you can pinpoint a bad lifter, swap them out for some stockers or something better.
I have headers with brand new gaskets. I also went through the whole exhaust so I know its not an exhaust leak. And throttle response in instant with no lag. Almost like there is no problem.
When start cold the car is quite as can be. But when hot, using my stethoscope, I think I can pin point it to the #1 Exhaust. Just not to sure if its the lifter or rocker.
I still have the stock rocker, not to sure why, and lashed them by setting to zero lash and putting a 1/2 turn of preload.

I'd just take the valve cover off and check everything out. It only takes a minute, maybe one of your locking rocker nuts backed off for some reason. Just my .02

I still need to know what kind of lifters you have.
Comp R's need barely any pre-load at all. should be 1/8-1/4 turn tops. Comp actually recommends .002-.004 preload on a warm engine.
sorry but im not sure how much pre-load those call for, im assuming you went by the directions
In any case I would pull the valve cover and have a friend crank the car over (coil wire/ignition fuse removed) and see if that valve has anything funky going on. If there is major slack or anything like that... swap them immediately. If it is just a noise - im not sure what to tell you. If it were me id probably finish the season out and swap the lifters when the snow flys.
