  • tune question

    for the people who have had a mail order tune, do you get a result approximation of HP gain on a sheet with whatever mods done to your car..

      Not necessarily but it depends. I believe HPTuners is capable of calculating the ammount of horsepower your engine is making based on what it is reading but i dont know if a tuner would be able to do that (with ease) without a log.

      Look at this way. 15rwhp can be gained on a stock LT1 and that is not an outlier number. The more mods you have the more you are going to get out of a tune because that is all the further your stock PCM is off.

      I personally do not think of tuning as a "horsepower modification." Its power you should have in the first place, and you are only cheating yourself by not having a properly tuned car. Not only that, but a properly tuned car is going to outlast one that isnt.
