  • Fixing a 4th gen rocker panel

Does anyone know whats involved in doing this? Can it be done with PDR or does the whole thing need to be replaced?

One of my rocker panels is banged up (has been since before i bought it) and its been bothering me more and more considering its nearly the only flaw in the body.

Its probably not something im going to fix anytime soon, but id like to plan for it.

you can kinda see it in this pic by the back door edge but alot of it is on the bottom angle of the car:

I dont think it is a large enough surface for PDR

Never done it or researched it but I'm sure its alot of work, based on how it is welded to the floorpan, 1/4 & firewall

That would most likely be pulled with a "stun gun", i.e. welding studs to the panel that are then pulled individually with a slide hammer. It's very effective, but it's definitely NOT PDR. You are most likely going to end up having to get parts of the rocker, door, and 1/4 panel repainted, but luckily for you, black is pretty forgiving when it comes to blending. Take it to a reputable shop, and you'll be golden. I'll be doing this to my car soon, as soon as I can bring myself to make the first weld. I have some damage to my quarter panels, rockers, and there are some dings in the hood I'd like to fix, followed by repainting the entire car. It's going to be a long road. . . lol
