i want to have a manual but i would sell my A4.. but i dont think i'm gonna get enough to get M6 and all that i've done to the car money wise which isnt to much but is it gonna be worth it. should i just convert to manual? what you guys think

I was going to sell my '93 Formula, but I realized that I was too attached to it, I can't get rid of it. It's an A4 as well, I'm selling my DD to buy everything for the swap, and I'm going to convert it to a T56 out in the driveway. . .
I'd say go for the swap! You really don't want to get rid of a car that you know is reliable to take on somebody elses car that may be a headache waiting to happen. . . You can get everything to swap for about $1,500, so why not just save up for it?Nick H.

Unfortunately red '94 Z-28s are a dime a dozen, so no... you probably won't get enough to get an M6 car. I've been seeing cars like yours selling for $3500-$4000. However, I have also seen some LT1 M6 cars going for the same price. My opinion? Sell it and sit on the cash, adding to it as you can and buy a higher mileage LS1 M6 car and be REALLY happy. I paid $6500 for my Formula 2 years ago and it's been a great car. Sure, I just had to put a $2500 trans in it, but for how much I beat on it, it was worth it.

sell it and save for a ls car, some of the autos are going cheap and are in decent condition, even with high miles u just gotta take care of them i know a few 120k+ head and cam ls1's running strongsigpic

I would just stick with the car. You're going through the same thing I am. . . I have a red '93 hardtop A4 Formula. . . Pretty much stock, lol. I'm trying to sell my truck to buy the parts to do the T56 swap, T-Top Conversion, and get my locker and 4.10's installed. . . lol I originally wanted a black Trans Am M6 w/ t-tops, but I got the car I have, and I love it. I would just love it a lot more if it had the 6 speed and t-tops. . . lol
I did switch from a V6 5-speed Camaro with T-Tops, and I loved that car, but the Formula was definitely a step up.Nick H.

Mine's basically all stock. I've got a 3" TD setup in the garage, but it's pointless to install it with stock mani's when I'm planning on installing headers when I sell my truck. I've just gotten really attached to my car, and I couldn't really go through the hassle of selling it, having people lowball me and tell me what a POS it is. Not worth it. I'll make the car what I want it to be, and be happy with it. It's got 160,000 miles on it right now, but still runs strong. Wasn't abused before, mostly highway driven by an older woman before the previous owner bought it, he put less than 5k on the odo before selling it, and I've been happy for 20,000 miles and 16 months so far. . .Nick H.
