  • Need HELP! 3.8l V6 Blueprints

I need some help from those with connections through GM and the engineering companies associated with GM. The 3.8l Series II v6 community has a company interested in making some aluminum heads for us with canted valves and such but they are requesting blueprints of the original GM heads, intake manifolds, and probably the block as well if possible.

This will help speed up the R&D process instead of taking used parts and measuring everything. So if anyone has access and can get copies of the blueprints/diagrams with the measurements and such on them that would be great!

So please check around and see what you guys can do. This engine has been in the 95+ fbody cars, Grand prixs (L36 and L67 supercharged ones) buick le sabres, century's and some more. So it is pretty widespread.

The company interested in doing it for us is a well known company in the Grand National 3.8l crowd and make some really nice heads.

I don't know if your going to get those from anybody and if you do, it will probably be anonymously. If GM knew what they did they could get in HUGE trouble.

A GM service manual probably isn't going to provide enough detail will it? I think I have a spare manual that covers the engine around here.

need measurements and such of the heads so that a company can use them for reference as they make some aluminum heads for our cars with canted valves and all the goodies to make some serious power out of a v6 Otherwise they will have to take some old junk heads and measure everything out and it just takes longer to get the R&D going

I would tell them to start measuring, i know an engine that they don't make anymore who cares, but they don't give out that information due to it having casting information wall thickness certain finish specs, all important in head design. Well good luck, what is going to be so special about these heads, doesn't abbot racing , zzperformance , and intense all make their own heads. Well again good luck!!!

abbott, zzp, intense all use stock iron heads and port them out. These heads that are being made are aluminum and will have a different valve design. Which means they will be lighter and flow more than the stockers ported ever could.
