  • Stock Rims don't fit my TA

I've swapped stock rims on my 94 TA many times to change the look of the car. but now I've come accross a set of rims that dont fit on the rear wheels. Was there a change somewhere in the firebird line?

    Here are the details

My car 94 Trans Am GT

I'm trying to mount the rims from a 98 Firebird with the V6 performance package 3.42 gears, duel exhaust etc.. not like it should matter.

Currently I have a set of 2000 TA LS1 rims installed and work fine.

    edit: all rims are 16x8

But the 98 rims don't fit around the hubs on the rear axel. I can't even get a lug nut threaded on. Theres no difference in my stock 94 rims from front to back or the 2000 rims.

I've also seen these particular rims installed on 97 TA's as OE equipment.

93-97 cars had slightly oversized wheel hubs in the rear.

Do not force them on, take a dremel or rounded hand file to the inside of the wheels and just clean them up bit by bit until the fit. It will not hurt their fitament on the front of the car, ive done it to several wheels now.
