First things first...looks like the Lt1 has a spun bearing.... (still looking into it)
poor thing. i am bummed seeing its only a summer car and i do not have time or money for it this year.

So plans are a 396 stroker.
Should i try to find a 4 bolt main LT4 block?
also can i get any deals on this rotating assemblies

Check out that Golen engine service online. I believe they have Lloyd elliot porting the heads now. They could have you a rebuild much faster. Not sure if they are any good, but the site looks like they know what they are doing.

How much do you think your block work will cost to clear that crank shaft? I was looking at the cnc-motorsports.com 396ci kit. those are nice also. But befor I spend money on a stroker kit i would send the block off and make sure its able to be stroked.

If it was me. I would just up grade to H-beam rods and Forged pistons. The stock crank is good for like 500rwhp on a bad day. So use a stocker. then with the left over money by some AFR 185cc or 195cc heads and air gap intake.

Also a LE3 with spary would be sweat!
So what is your power goals?

                    but i wanna do around a 230 244 .510 .530ish cam
and make 400+ out of an auto.

We have the 12113 kits for $1499.99, but they are not balanced. I would recommend getting it that way and having your machinist balanced the kit.

Thats some nice pricing for the labor $700 what is the name of the shop that will do it that cheap? also what is the cost with the 4 bolt main caps? Does that include sonic checkingthe block?

Also I see you plan on making 400 RWHP with a shot of spray. thats a nice goal. I had a buddy with a mild 396ci lt1 making 380rwhp . so i am sure the soary would help.

One other thing i notice is that in your sig you have " blown 396 on the way". what CR do you plan on runing? Keep that in mind while you are doing your short block.

just to clear up any misinformation, you do not need an LT4 block to get a 4 bolt main. ALL corvette LT1s were 4 bolts. Im not never sure if the LT4 had a different block than the vette LT1.
