Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!
If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact us!
right, but for $500-600 you can buy a dynaspark and be completely done with ALL ignition problems as long as your wires are good. You can take it a step further with a coil pack conversion as well.
That's a lot of money.
Then again, it's probably cheaper than replacing the Opti all the time.
Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z
mine sounded way worse. I could barely get it past 1k rpm. Anyhow, while I was taking the egr off, I found a leak in it, right where it connects to the header. I think what happened is the O2 sensor saw this leak as the motor running lean, so it dumped a bunch of gas in. Since it wasn't actually running lean (the o2 was coming after firing) this resulted in a lot of extra gas, and incomplete combustion, and fouled plugs. Every one I took out was black and reeked of gasoline. I'm changing them tomorrow night, and I hope it runs better. Taking the EGR off was easy, and it didn't backfire after, hopefully a good sign, but we'll see tomorrow.
Alot of LT-FAIL's on this board lately. Joel, your car sounded like in that video..... And that vibration is crazy...
tell me about it. Something was dying a slow death prior to my teardown and it was most likely the opti. That video was 2 weeks before it got so bad i wouldnt even drive it anymore.
well, it wasn't that egr leak! I've got the front half of the engine torn down, I'm going to replace the opti. I found a plastic bag between my radiator and AC condensor, that probably didn't help my cooling problems. BTW if anyone needs an AC condensor, I'll let mine go cheap. It's not going back on.
