  • 99+ Racetronix Kit

Well installed the racetronix fuel pump today in my firebird. Install was acctually pretty straightforward and easy since I cut the access panel. One weird thing though, they have that fancy racetronix red outer shell on the otherwise normal walbro pump. This shell when on caused it to be impossible to slide the pump in the rubber sleeve. So I simply took off the red shell (nobody even sees the thing) and installed the pump as normal. Has anyone else ran into this issue? seems to me they could simply leave the thing alone with no shell and charge 30 bucks less.. its pointless to have that red shell on it!

Oh and by the way.. one step closer to 10psi

Why not just buy a walbro pump then.. if it was gonna save you 30 bucks?

I got a good deal on this from a member on the board who decided not to put it in. and for the 99+ cars with the plastic tank there is no walbro kit, racetronix has the plug and play kit that is made using a walbro pump. I simply figured they could sell it for even cheaper without that pointless sleeve.
