Meh another damn problem

Ok let me go in order of events

1) Car didnt want to start, put the key into turn, turned and the entire car died...had to remove negative cable and screw back in a couple times to get her started

2) Driving home from walmart and heard loud clapping like noises..pull over pop the hood, see my serpentine belt ripping to shreds

3) replaced belt only to hear more noises

4) more days followed where the car died on me

5) took to autozone got battery tested and alternator..both came back fine

6) found the noise..part of the shredded belt were wrapped around the pulleys and had to fish them out

7) Car started running fine the past couple days started every time

8) now car is back to the old habbits of not starting when I really need it to

So I was thinking starter & solenoid? The damn thing just doesnt like to start, so like I said before ,I go to start (everything electrical is fine) once I turn to crank everything dies

So what can be the problem because I dont think I can be late for work anymore haha..and today is payday so im going to get this taken care of ASAP

Bad ground on the battery? I had that on my 89 Cavilar. The ground was all dirty and coroaded.

Does the starter make any noise at all when you try to start it??
It could be the starter if the car don't turn over at all.
2 bolts and it comes off then you just have to take the wires off.
AZ can test that also.

check the actual wires on the starter

but its easy as hell to just go get it tested do both and report back

I would say that it is definatly starter issues. Everything that uses power is supposed to shut off when you try and start the car.

could be starter. VERY easy swap, just put one in mine a month or two ago. randomly the car was deader than a doornail when i tried starting it.lol gave it a few taps drove it to the lift, ordered the starter, installed starter, and headed to dawg dogs that night

should be cheap for the 3.4, unlike the $175 LS1 starters

Also less of a PITA than the LT1. Although, if it would've been easier on a stick.

yes they test them, although they can either say it works or it doesnt work. they cant say if its the selinoid or the whole starter

might as well just buy a whole new starter though, depending how much it is

you can test them yourself too, put it in a vice and hook it up to a battery and short the terminals, if it spins it's good.

Not exactly safe, maybe you should take it to autozone.

There are some transmission lines that run right under it that have to move about 6 inches for it to come out. And yes, the last time I did the starter I had manifolds.
