LT-1 on E85?

I got this idea today, I read up on LS1 forums about it and it said that E85 runs a little leaner than gas. Anyone have experience with something like this? What would I need to do to run it?

I dont think you could. Even if you could it gets worse gas milage then regular gass. the guy at Berger told me the break even point is that e85 has to be at least 40 cents cheaper a gallon then regular to be a wash.

no plroblems at all to run this car on this, here in sweden we does this an have done for several years!

I have 42# injectors on my car, runs a little rich, I won't have anyissues leaning out? Mileage is the least of my concern.

someone just did this on here. i'd look for the thread if i had time but i think it was called like "getting my car tuned for E-85" or somethin like that. i dont even remember who it was. sorry.

Yeah, I looked at it, His was an LS1 so I figured it was different. I'm just worried about running lean.

with a retune it'll be just fine.

You will want a tune. I emailed pcmforless.com and he said that he could send me a tune for my computer. I was considering the tune, but I need larger injectors.

I would think the 42's would be big enough but if I were you I would get it tuned on a dyno so it's right.

You need 2 X the amount of fuel with E85 so I don't see the diff. unless you are going for the pwr.

There's a station a few miles from my house that sells E-85 for $3.49 a gallon.

That is 60 cents cheaper right there.

I doubt it uses 2X as much fuel but it does use more.

correct jeff e85 requires like 20% more fuel the reg gas

if i get my own software im gonna do 2 tunes since the closest e85 is 15 miles away

To be correct 93 octane stoich is about 14.67:1 and E-85 is 9.87:1. but the benifets of cleaner running and 101-110 octane is worth the loss in fuel economy imo. i mean what does 100 octane race gas cost?? A crap load and how much is E-85? less than 87. Its not a way to save money v.s. pump gas but it is a awsom way to save money in the long run v.s. race gas

Like on some snowmobiles! that would be cool but i think you would have to have two pcms and it would be to hard to do in a street car. you would lose all your adaptive strategy also so it would drive like crap every time you switched
