  • Anyone got a Scanner Tool...

OK for the past coupe of weeks I have been fighting this on going battle of my high idle issue and every so often both banks being lean and the 02 sensors malfunctioning.

For the idling issue I checked the vacuum lines and they all seem to be sealed and I have also replaced the IAC sensor (Idle Air Control) and I get nothing.

Also it feels like my car has lost power. The car will sputter around 40mph and then it will do it at WOT from 4500rpms on up. I replaced the fuel filter thinking it was clogged up and it seemed to fix it but then it started happening again. So I seafoamed the gas tank and put it in the intake via the brake booster vacuum line. Bunch of blue smoke came out and it ran great but is now running like shit again.

I have had a SES light on for the past few days and went down to check out what it said and get it cleared. It said:

    High Idle
    Bank 1 Lean
    Bank 2 Lean
O2 Bank 1 Sensor Malfunction (Could this be because of my cut outs, I just got them installed yesterday and took out my cats)

Anyone have a scanner tool that I can meet up with them. I just don't want to start replacing things blindly with not a lot of money on hand...

The guy at advance said that the computer is trying to go back to the OEM tune, but I don't think it would do that....

Do you have post cat o2 sensors? if you do that could be throwing your car off. But if you have a high idle and a lean condition I would start looking for a vacuum leak. I don't know if your cutouts could cause this as I have little expertise in exhaust.

Too bad your car isn't obd2. I have a data recorder that records 24 hours worth of data and has around 40 pids on the data list. Only works on obd2 cars though. I also have a handheld code reader from mac tools for obd2 as well.

      ahh yes. the wonderful E85
      Did you check fuel pressure?
      E85 is a cleaner.
It can't try to go back to an OEM tune cause there is not one.
When they tuned it did they change the desired LAMDA for the e85 or leave it at 14.7?????

No I don't have post O2 Sensors, I ahd those tuned out. I keep trying to look for vaccum leaks And I can't find anything.

And actully my car is a OBII car. If I could get together with you to use it that would be awesome!

I just got a fuel pressure gauge today and am going to try and install it tonight.

That's what I figured on the tune also that there is no stock tune anymore.

Yes he did change the desired LAMDA for the E85.

The car ran amazing after I got it back from then tuner and he even noted that it was a strong runner.

my bet would be the o2 sensors if you can't find a vacume leak. and you have new injectors right? so it shouldent be that.

was it changed just for WOT or was the 02 switch point changed too.
If it wasn't the car would be lean

I'm thinking it might replace the O2 Sensors.

Well I would assume that part throttle was tuned as well as idle and WOT just because I have two separate tunes for 93 octane and E85. I am going to call the tuner tomorrow since he works on saturdays also

Well I can't go anywhere out of town this weekend, My little brothers open house for high school graduation is Saturday. If you are in town (Grand Rapids/Cascade Area) drop me a line my cell is 616-648-7243, if I don't pick-up just leave me a message. You can call while I am at work. I work mon-fri and don't get out of work and home till around 5:20. I have the recorder at my house along with the software for my computer. If that doesn't work then you could buy the data recorder yourself. IDK what the maker sells them for since I bought mine of the mac tools truck. The website is www.crecorder.com. I believe you can order one from that website.
