easy way to tell what it is, run up to autozone and have them scan the car, just tell them you have been getting a check engine light or something the will do it for free. If their scanner comes up ERROR, you have an obd 1.5. DO NOT do the paper clip, or let them if you have 16 pins because it will fry your computer.
