Ive been digging through all my old files trying to find the How To on lowering a 4th gen F-Body. There was a How To on what to do to lower it like 2 inches for $5. I can't remember where I seen this at I had it saved and lost it. Im sure some of you have seen this at one point or another. If you could help me out and let me know what it is to do or know the link to it that would be great. Thanks.

No way you can lower the front for that price or any price short of either Koni SA's with the lower perch that drops it 3/4" or new springs. The rear you can get about an inch and a half or so with the heater hose mod. Lots of people have done that. You're just getting rid of the huge rubber isolater and replacing it with a much thinner one. I'm not sure how long it lasts though. I would think heater hose is much softer than the factory isolator and would eventually wear through.

It varies on every car. I haven't done the heater hose mod yet. I kinda like the front being 3/4 of an inch lower with the konis up front. You probably don't want to do the rear isolator delete unless you drop the front with a different set of springs, or SA konis on the lower perch.

I'd measure all 4 corners and get some ground to fender heights. From what I've gathered on other sites, most people claim a 1/2inch drop in the rear. I've heard of people going further when they don't use any spacer.

Yes, its the heater hose mod. I forgot to mention it was just for the rear. I deffinantly would of posted if it had something to do with cutting springs. IMO that is the stupidest thing you can do to a cars suspension. I dunno where I got 2" from...blah ohh well. I deffinantly want to drop the rear a little. With my new ZR1 wheels there is too much of a gap in the back for me. Who here has done the heater hose mod? Was it worth it? Any notices in driving? Also does anyone know where the exact right up on this is? Thanks guys!Last edited by Extreme; April 28th, 2008, 09:51 PM.
