  • best bang for your buck cam?

    Im going to be getting a cam for my 94 LT1, im jw what other people have in theres and what you guys might suggest that i go with, i have about $300-400 to put into it so if you guys could help me pick a good cam to go with that would be great thanks!

    Umm..just $300-$400 for the cam itself or all together? Im in the process right now of putting in a comp 503...good street cam with good amount of power

      if you are talking about total investment necessary I firmly believe the hotcam kit is the best bang for the buck.

        im looking to spend 300-400 all together. Yea i want the hot cam kit but dont have the money thats why i was wondering what else is out there.

          hot cam kit is about cheapest youre going to find man... Most any other cam is gonna run you over a grand when its said and done.

          There are probably cams out there small enough to work with stock springs and rockers, but it wouldnt really be worth the work, you would be disappointed in the marginal gain and not to mention could end up with problems. Id recommend just upgrading to 1.6 rockers for now if thats your budget... otherwise save for the hotcam kit which includes them.

            x2 dont cheap out, save until you can do it once and do it right and save on the disappointment

              $300-$400 is going to barely get you the cam itself. New my cam was a little over $250...I bought a lot of stuff used and it still is goin to cost me close to $1000...save a little and get the hot cam kit if money is an issue.
