that sucks. . . You have a tap and die set, right? I would hope you wouldn't have to take that somewhere to have it done. . .Nick H.

I'm in the same situation, big pain in the ass
i snapped two of those bolts on the drivers side, I'm thinking it will be easier to take the manifold off to get the bolts out.
If you can figure out a way to get them out while on the car let me know!
good luck

sorry to hear about that!
I had a 86 Monte Carlo SS.....I went to change the spark plugs....And twisted the head off the spark plugs. Pulled it out.....and the threads of the spark plug were still in the head!
..........Yeah it happened on 4 of them.
That was a pain in the ass!!!
Best of luck with urs, but it could be a lot worse.sigpic

Ya lay a new 3/8 nut over the broken stud, then weld inside the nut to the stud, then turn the stud out with the welded-on nut. If they are in there that tight, an acetylene torch might come in handy but the heat from the welding might be enough to loosen the stud. This is how pros like us do it. Dont try this with a stick welder. Use a wire feeder or TIG welder or you're gonna have a bigger mess. Good luck

the last 2, 5&6 and there's no way i can do that.. cause there either flush with the block or in the block alittle so i'd have to take off the head.. which i'll save for some other day, at that time after i tried heat it broke offLast edited by Camaroz2894; April 10th, 2008, 06:12 PM.
