Ok iv been trying to do the resarch but i cant find much. im thinking about doing something with one of the gen 3 truck engines. like the lq4 and lq9. What others are there and how compatible are they with lsx parts?
I would like aluminum block but a iron would be ok.

Truck motors have an iron block and iron heads (I think), as well as a more restrictive intake manifold.

They're completely identical to LS1/LS6 engines, and can swap parts with them.

truck engines are iron block and aluminum heads

car engines are aluminum block and aluminum heads

basically the same engines minus different cams, and intake/exhaust manifolds

youd be better off swaping the body panels...

buy an LS1 car and swap on the body panels from an LT1 car..

                    Fenders too.

Everything ahead of the doors (body panel wise)

To swap the motor, you'd have to change crossmembers, electrical crap...

Id hold off and get an ls1 and swap pannels, ls1 = better electronics & gauges, way better brakes, better interior, and not to mention the engine. Youd need a hood, bumper, fenders, light brackets and some other small stuff. All that should be easily found a junk yards and have to be painted.
