  • A few questions...

    1. Any tips on removing the manifold to Y pipe bolts? I ALWAYS snap them off and i dont want to get new studs (yes i have tried PB blaster and so far hasnt done any good)

    2. Anyone have pictures of subframe connectors installed on there car? I dont know how i have never noticed before but there are two steel bars on each side running along beneath the door area

    3. Will 18"/19" OEM C6 rims fit without spacers on a 4th gen?

    thanks

    1. Sorry man i cant think of anything. I snapped a few on mine and i soaked my bolts for a good 3 days.

    2. Those are probably SFCs... but not the double-diamond type. If you want to see what a double diamond looks like installed, check out my winter project thread where i a painted my undercarriage. My SFCs used to be red so they should be easy to spot.

    3. I think so... but dont take my word for that.

Those studs will require heat. From underneath. I really don't know how you'll get heat to them on a 4th gen. Good luck.

are those OEM specs? I believe OEM C6's are 10" or 10.5" wide

car will be lowered too though, yours is lowered right?

Thats what i was afraid of, I dont think there is a way i can safely heat those up w/o burning other stuff

OEM C6's will NOT fit. The spacing and stuff is different. Replicas are made with the right offset. I know someone who had real C6's put on their F body and it took some machining and other work to get them to fit properly.

You might have to remove a few things to safely heat them. I've never done it on a 4th gen... wheewwh, that's a tight area. It's a lot easier on my third gen, but still tight. On my 92 GMC K2500 I could wave a torch around with my eyes closed and probably not hurt anything

An easy way to heat those things up would have been to just start the car let it run for 20mins than shut it off and get at it. I mean its nothing like torching them but it would probably have helped.
