i had a cam, and went with a mail in tune and it really woke the car up.

I'm sure a dyno tune would have been better
Agreed, I would only use the tune on a bolt on car.

As I said, its definitely good if you want to be able to change your shift points, shift firmness, re-calbrate gearing & tire/wheel size changes so the speedo reads right, fan temp, rev limiter and so on without having to take it anywhere. The Power tune on it, I didn't think it hurt anything on mine, thought it helped a little. But I would not use the tune on anything but a bolt on/stock car. You get into H/C and stuff, take it to a reputable shop for a dyno tune.

They are good for more than that, see above. But no, there are better tunes out there, even in handhelds.

I had a hypertech on my car and took it off.

When i tried to put it back on it wouldnt work again, lol!

Anyways, i took it off because the shift points were all jacked and it would shift fine until you got some wide open throttle shifts, then it would mis shift and hesitate, took off the hypertech and did 10 WOT runs, no more shifting problems....

I think the hypertech along with the shift kit in the tranny was too much for the car to handle while doing WOT Shifts... The guy before me had the shift MPH increased alot... i was just going to set it back down to close to normal, but i wanted to start clean... when i removed it and tried to put it back on with default settings, no go... hypertech screwed me, the unit kept saying 'hardware failure' or 'cannot communicate'

So i got hooked up with a guy with EFI Live...
ITS THE BEST OUT THERE, IMO

I've been recommended to skip those programmers and send the computer to MADZ28tuners.com or PCM4LESS.com They will customize the tune just for your car. You can list all the mods done to your vehicle and they will take care of it. Also, with the '96 they can adjust the shift frimness as well.

All for like $150. I plan on doing that to my '96 as soon as I get my headers and exhaust put on.
