  • M6 shifter help

I am lookling at buying a new short throw shifter for my M6.

Are they worth the money / trouble?

Any reccomendations or advice would be appreciated.

The best mod you can do for the 6 speed cars. I don't care what you go with, but I highly recommend it. I currently have a PRO 5.0 shifter. WS6store.com short stick handle, and B&M T-handle. I will be switching to a Hurst pistol grip this week.

DEFINATELY worth it! I have a Hurst Billet plus with a WS6 store short stick and Hurst pistol grip. HUGE difference in ease of shifting and no more missed/stuck 2-3 shifts.

when i had a 6 speed i ran the slp short throw with the LS "quick stick" ontop of that with an SLP leather shift knob. i loved the feel of it, definatly get one. they are all pretty good, some people like others more then some...but no matter what they are a very worth while investment and only take about 1/2 hour to install if you have no clue what you're doing.

I just installed a Hurst Billet plus, with a UMI short stick and Hurst pistol grip....feels great with the 15 miles or so I used it But I never had a problem with the stock set-up either.

for me, the aftermarket shifter's greatest benefit was the adjustable stops, to keep you from bending a shift fork when you really want to rip on the handle. The "shortness" of my pro 5.0 didnt really help me that much, however, when i put a pistol grip on it.... it was like i suddenly became a pro out of no where.
