Well, has anyone made a decision yet? I think I might ditch the cats on my V6. . . What kind of power gains should I expect?

umm..... you wouldn't gain much from losing your cats...unless you got a set of headers for your car...pulled that cats, and got a cat-back ..... if all you do is rip out your cats, you'll mostly just notice your car will "smoke" more and be a little louder/raspier

Yeah not much of a power increase but the exhaust will smell worse and it will be louder.

Are you serious? I thought it would at least add a few HP to the wheels. . . That's crazy. Maybe I'll just upgrade to headers and a catback after I swap the V8 in.

You may gain like 1 or 2rwhp but nothing I think would be noticable.

Okay. Not worth it. . . I should notice a helluva HP and Torque gain after the LT1 is installed. . .

like i say...and a friend of mine always told me.....if you want to notice a gain....do a few things at once...one little mod here and there won't make any difference. like if you get a CAI ... you won't notice much..then get some headers...won't notice much...get a cat back....won't notice much (in power anyways) but do all those things at once...you'll feel a pretty good jump

take my rear suspension for example......some people have asked me "well did you notice a difference from the Adj. Torque arm?" or stuff like that...im like "i don't know... i dropped about a $G and did everything at once..and i felt a HUGE difference with it all in"

but most of us can't pull $$ outta our asses so we do one thing at a time.

Hey if you guys find a set of pacesetters cheap lemme know and I will go with them if they are a good price. Maybe someone would be willing to help on the install. For those who got headers how much of a differance did it make.

I know around 30 - 40 hp but is that like a huge differance in the feel of the car. i would think so. Also what power from an electric cutout any y pipe do u think i'll get.

well if you get headers i would be more than happy to give you a hand with them!.... i have no idea what kind of #'s to expect....but you will notice your exhaust sounds more "pingier" if that's a word? lol.....and it will most certainly flow better! i know the SLP LT's are good for a claimed 40 or 50 hp i think......but yeah any headers are better!

I know that you all like the pacesetters, but are there any other brands that offer more HP and Torque gains?
