Blower motor resistor, or nah?

Do 4th gen cars use a resistor to shunt voltage for slow speed blower operations? Can't find a part or any info anywhere.

Blower Motor Resistor Assembly Replacement
Removal Procedure

• Remove the right IP insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
• Position the carpet away from the HVAC module assembly.
• Remove the blower resistor assembly bolt (2).
• Disconnect the blower resistor assembly electrical connector.
• Remove the blower resistor assembly (1).

Installation Procedure

• Install the blower motor resistor assembly (1).
• Connect the blower motor resistor assembly electrical connector. [COLOR=blue !important] Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

• Install the blower motor resistor bolt (2).
  Tighten
  Tighten the bolt to 2 Y (18 lb in).
• Reposition the carpet.
• Install the right instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
