Hello everyone,
I've recently rebuilt my entire front and rear suspension on my 2002 Camaro SS but I'm still getting a metal on metal knocking noise from the right front of the vehicle. This included all ball joints, outer tie rods (inners were still very good), UCA & LCA bushings, spring perches, strut mounts & bellows, wheel bearings, sway bar end links, and SLP Bilstein dampers. I don't think it is the suspension cause the noise does not occur over medium to large bumps. Instead the knocking sounds like it comes from the right front of the vehicle during smaller bumps or possibly during weight transfer. I've been going through the car looking, tapping, and wiggling everything I can see with no luck.
My Camaro has the SLP y-pipe and CME. I've noticed that there are no flex joints anywhere in the exhaust. My thought was that it could be the exhaust making the noise since it is so rigidly mounted. Has anyone found that to be the case with their SLP exhaust?
