I didn't know that .4-.6 second drops were possible with just a converter change in V6 cars as well. Seems like IIRC that's about the same that is seen on V8's. Still that's a good drop and you'd know better than me Travis.

Not sure if you do a converter you absolutely need to change gears, a member on this board (ZSPOT98) runs around a 4000 rpm stall with 2.73 gears (I think he's running 11's) because the stall gives him enough torque and RPM's off the line to still launch hard while maintaining a decent drive gear. Just throwing it out there since you said this is a DD and you have 3.08's, even with those a converter should make a big difference.

If it were me, since your waiting about gears anyway, I'd go ahead and do a converter first, see how it was with the 3.08's, if you like it, I'd stick with them. Just a thought. And I do agree, a converter will make a bigger difference for less hassle at this point than doing a cam. Once you are up to speed and the converter is locked up your mileage shouldn't change much if at all. City driving is what will kill it with a converter.

Im all for getting a stall, just more money than I wanted to spend, but I just got a 1K bonus at work sooooo this may now be an option, I just have to find someone/where to install it.

I want 3.42 for the posi really. 3.08's are great for highway, but the open diff blows.

remember. unless the vert is speced for a v6 it may stall at a much lower rpm. lt1 3000 stall might only be a 2200 in a v6

Which is exactly why I was looking at a TCI, one of the only people who make them for a v6, and ive heard good things about them.
