  • a couple questions...OD vs D and seafoam

Seafoam, it doesn't say exact instructions on the bottle but you just pour X amount into the oil-fill and run it? How long?

I plan on changing the oil right after i run it. Also, i was searching and does this stuff harm your car sometimes?

    next question.

    OD vs D

I leave my car in D and then switch into OD a little over 2K rpms

mine 99 will shift into 4th (when OD) around 35 mph if i dont keep in 3rd (D)

I heard along time ago from some mechanic that this is easier on the transmission in the long run or is that just a myth or something?

don't change the oil right away after seafoam. Run about 80-100 miles to allow it to work itself around and break up gunk. Then change the oil. It will be think with crap

Leave it in OD and don't worry about it

the only time i use D instead of OD is in high traffic situations where im continuously "making my move" and im sparing my trans several downshifts.

good thing i asked about the seafoam,

i prefer D regardless b/c its annoying when it shifts into 4th at low speeds...just curious if that guys statement was bs

I wasn't to crazy about using seafoam in my oil. I poured most of the can into the brake booster vacuum hose. The rest I dumped into the gas tank. It really does a great job breaking up carbon in the intake. She blew smoke for a good 10 minutes.

yup if you follow every direction..expect good results..

when I seafoamed mine (probably for the very first time it was ever seafoamed)

had a very nice smoke show...just let it sit there for sometime idling watching smoke pour out..then took it on the highway and let it rip

                              I love seafoam.
                              works good for me.
I actually just added a full can to a 1/2 a tank in my explorer.
when I get a different car....thats the 1st theing that goes in the oil.
Then I drive for 50 or so miles and then change the oil.

In my trans am...I drive aroundf in "D"
until I go over 40mph (highway) then ill shift into "OD"
LOL....hell sometime if im cruzing.....i drive in 2nd gear.....I like to hear my motor and exhaust.
