I never had to check the pcv valve..shop just usually changed it when they tuned the engine up (usually when the damn car was in for big repairs, i always get it tuned up)

Engine is idling a lil rough so I figure it might be clogged, since it always gave me problems

this is the closest i could find

          REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
          See Figures 1 through 10
When removing body panels, apply fabric tape to the corners of the panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
          1. Open the hood to a full open position, and have an assistant securely support the hood.

Fig. 1: Exploded view of the hood and related components-Pontiac shown

Fig. 2: Exploded view of the hood and related components-Chevrolet shown

          1. Matchmark the position of the hood hinges using a marker or paint.

Fig. 3: Use a marker or paint to matchmark the hood hinge-to-bracket position

Fig. 4: The Pontiac Formula/Trans Am with performance package uses a different hood than the other vehicles

          1. Disconnect the hood open assist rod from the strut stud. Use a small prytool to pry the clip out while pulling the assist rod from the hood strut stud.

Fig. 5: Insert an awl under the clip on the hood open assist rod

Fig. 6: Pry the clip out from the hood open assist rod ...

Fig. 7: ... while pulling the assist rod from the hood strut stud

Fig. 8: Detach the hood open assist rod from the strut stud

          1. Unfasten the hood hinge bolts/screws and hinge bracket nuts from the hood hinges.
          2. With the help of an assistant, remove the hood from the vehicle.

Fig. 9: After unfastening the retaining bolts, have an assistant help you remove the hood from the vehicle

          To install:
          1. Position the hood to the vehicle, with the help of an assistant.
          2. Install the hood hinge bolts/screws and hinge bracket nuts. Tighten the retainers to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm).

Fig. 10: Align the matchmark and tighten the hood hinge bolts

          1. Connect the hood open assist rod to the strut stud.
          2. Close the hood slowly, checking the clearance between the hood, front fenders and, for Pontiac only, headlamp opening doors.
          3. If necessary, adjust the hood.

          ADJUSTMENT
          See Figures 11 and 12
          1. Close the hood firmly.
          2. Determine the amount of adjustment needed using the accompanying specifications.

Fig. 11: Hood and related front end alignment specifications-Chevrolet

Fig. 12: Hood and related front end alignment specifications-Pontiac

          1. Open the hood.
          2. Change the height by turning the hood bumpers up or down, as necessary.
          3. Repeat these steps until the proper alignment is reached.
