  • Whats wrong?

Just put in another fuel pump in my TA, now there is no spark.

Power is getting to the Ignition coil (which is brand new as of today). Car sat for ~4weeks, ran fine until the fuel pump died.

Only things that come to mind...

I unlocked my hypertech prog. and sold it, maybe something is wrong with the PCM?

or the infamous opti? But the car has been sitting, with the hood closed. Car was outside for one week which it did snow a bit during that week but has been inside the previous 2 weeks and the last week

any ideas? The opti looks like a pain in the ass to swap out so i'm hoping it's not that

      I don't have a code-reader

The fans are on when the key is to the "on" position (obviously not running) and someone told me that indicates it's throwing a code.

there was no SES light when parked

You can pull codes the old school way with a paper clip and a trip to Auto Zone to look up th code.

Try unplugging the battery and letting it set 10 mins maybe the security feature is enabled...

Battery was unhooked for ~3 weeks so I think it had time to reset. I can try it again I suppose

how would I pull codes with a paper clip? I did it along time ago on my old 84 307 and counted blinking lights but i forgot the actual process

anyone know how to disarm or anything about the "Security" function?

the car turns over but does not get spark, would security system have anything to do with that?

security cannot be disabled - and unless the light is flashing or on it should be your problem

fans are running because the vehicle has put itself in a protected mode

check your fuses (pcm fuse?) over maybe you shorted something when replacing the pump or disconnecting the hypertech

how would i go about the security problem?

All fuses are good, first thing i checked

can i get my PCM tested anywhere?

                    OK made some progress.

I have limited it down to

                    1. PCM
                    2. Opti-spark
                    3. Any wiring in between

I don't really want to buy a new optispark without knowing 100% that is the problem.

Any idea's before I go ahead and buy a new pcm?
