  • The bra came off. . .

I know what you guys were thinking lol. . . Well, anyway, I have some bad news for you. Well, not really for you, but its devastating for me. . . I took off the front end bra today to fully expose the front end, and it is in pretty bad shape. I want to post pictures, but they are all too big to upload to this site, so I'll try to attach them. Small children and women who are pregnant should shield their eyes, because this is pretty graphic lol . . .

looks like whoever painted that car didn't use any pla-stick adhesion promotor on that bumper....that's why the paint decided to leave lol.....well eventually you'll get it all back right... looks like a new hood is in due time??? hmm i see a nice cowl in nicks future!

Yeah, a cowl would be nice, but I have no money. haha. The damage is from the idiot previous owner running it into something. The rear bumper doesn't quite fit right either, because he backed into a pole or something. I guess now you see why I got this gem for $1100! I don't know who painted it, it was like this when I got it a few months ago. It was professionally painted though, all the jams, and the doors, hood, and back hatch were all cut in. For anyone that doesn't know what that means, it is when a painter paints the unexposed surfaces, like the inside. It is a really nice paint job, but the owner in Tecumseh had no respect for this car. I will be repainting it this summer. I think I might just paint the areas that need it and blending it to save me some time, effort, and money.

yeah cuttin in everything takes some time. i did an acura integra...color swap from an ugly ass blue color to silver. i had the whole damn car parted....doors hood and deck lid off. and the engine compartment was cut in the best i could with out taking out the motor. but it came out sweet when i was done. took a shit load of time to do all the jambs then put the whole car back together and do that outside

That's how I could tell that someone laid down some serious moo-lah on this paint job. It must have looked sharp as hell when it was delivered. I still get people asking me if that's a factory paint color option. lol A guy asked me that in the meijer parking lot today, and I just started laughing. I told him it used to be polo green or something like that. Then he asked me the question I was dreading. . . "That thing got a V8?" I said "As far as you know!" and we both started laughing. Then I told him it was a 3.4 V6 with a 5 speed and a glasspack, and I told him about my V8 swap coming up. Really nice guy. I can't wait until show season!

Sorry about you ride Nick. Its ok though. Well get you a new shiny hood with ram air package and voila good as new... kind of. Just don't hit any speed bumps... again. Did you ever get that fixed? Anyway, I see you in Jazz. Peace.

ouch, on the bright side it will be a really sharp looking car if you get it painted right. If I were you, i would paint the hood vents to match, and the headlight pockets and grille area black so it looks like a factory job. An orange bowtie would complete the touch too.

Black SS stripes are coming, so the vents are just going to be repainted black neway, so. . .

in that case, nevermind! btw, in the poll, i vote the third option: go get a can of rustoleum brush paint (or even spray), and touch it up by hand. orange that is slightly off in color looks better than black.

Ouch, but still looks better than a bra in my opinion. In due time it'll be a real beauty though.

Well, at first everyone was like "Oh, Nick, your car would be SO MUCH COOLER if you would take off that ugly bra." And now everyone is like "Oh, Nick, Why did you take off that beautiful bra? The car needs to be fixed! The idiot that you bought it from can't drive. We're sorry we doubted you. Can you ever forgive us?" lol j/k I'm glad to see that you all sympathize with me, and I will post more pics as the progress continues. I am glad I have the bra now, because I can keep the front end hidden until the paint is done. I would have just driven around a primered up camaro if I didn't have the darned thing! lmao

I was thinking about taping off the bowtie in the grille, and painting the rest of the grille black with a can of spraybomb, and leaving the bra on like that until I get around to painting it, it would look a lot better. I also went out about 3 hours ago and changed my blinker fluid, so at least thats out of the way lol
