Ok well I have figured that you bought your car with the LS6 intake manifold and you need to change this line for that so I looked up on Texas Speed and they had it so I ordered it. Problem solved.

sweet problem solved!...yeah when i bought my car it already had the LS6 intake on it and a ported TB...so i wasn't aware of that. although now that i think of it.... i kinda do remember reading something about that on the LS1HOWTO.com install instructions...and i guess it just never phased me cause i don't have it? lol....but yeah there's just like little blocks that cover the holes in the back.....funny story when i put my heads on...i forgot those little blocks on the back of the heads. first time i start my car....it starts to warm up an some smoke/steam is coming outta the back of my motor...im like WTF!!!????!!! then when the thermostat opened.....it was like a volcano LOL....then i shut it off and immediatly remembered what i forgot LOL...one of those trial and error things.

man that must have sucked. I'm having an issue right now getting the driver side exhaust manifold off it won't come from the top or bottom and the passenger side is a freakin nightmare to even get to the bolts.

lol DMuscle. I had to lift my engine up to get my pass side header out. Hopefully you won't have to do the same. Its way too much fun.

yep... passanger side goes out the bottom. driverside is a gamble. and yea those head bolts are a good 6 or 7 inch long....it's not like you can break them lose and screw 'em out....they are tight all the way out!.....i used a breaker bar on everyone of mine to get them all out....talk about a long time!....and what is it 20 i think? i don't remember or is it 16? but yeah.....gotta go for B-day dinner now

                    • Yeah the manifolds came out great from the bottom so no problems now and they actually weren't too bad no breaker bar needed. The heads will be a different story. I'm hoping we'll be slow enough at work for me to get it completly disassemble (cam out) before this weekend so we can just put it all back together.

Umm on all aluminum block's and aluminum heads....that can be a little risky sometimes!....but damn right it would take them off withoutta problem!

                        • Yeah I actually used an impact to remove some of the bolts after they were loosened and that was quite a timesaver but like Matt said its aluminum so you must take caution.

                            • Thats weird that you had to use in impact gun to pull them the rest of the way out...when I took my heads off, i could take them out by hand once they were loosened, and put them all the way back in till they were snug to the head by hand as well. Maybe you had a lot of thread lock originally....If I were you, I would check and make sure the bolts don't have any metal in the threads and that you can put them back in by hand. If you can't, then I'd probably be nervous!

So whats going on with this weekend? I could totally come down on Sat morning and we all can work to get that cam in by end of day. I can bring in my cam degreeing kit too so we can get it dialed in perfectly!

                              • Well, I would say use caution, but you already know that, so I'll just tell you to knock yourselves out, and be sure to let us know how it turns out! I can't wait to see what that car can do once you finish it!
